Retrospection

In 2018, 75 years have passed since the birth of the great actor Mihai Curagău, decorated with the Order of the Republic. Government marked this fact by issuing a series of stamps with the image of the master.

RAVAC IFF organizers dedicated their first edition by retrospectively screening the films from the Moldova-Film gold fund, but also by offering the "Post Humus Award", the prize of excellence for the entire activity. The prize was raised by Eugenia Curagău, the wife of the great actor.

During the RAVAC festival, the last three films in which the master played: ”Resentiment”, ”The Sofa” and ”Milliard”, the award-winning short film at multiple festivals worldwide, were screened.

The monument of the great actor could be installed in the center of the capital, in the area between the Odeon cinema and the Satiricus Theater, one of the founders of which he was the master. The statue of the actor will be made by the sculptor Veaceslav Jiglitzki, and the estimated cost is 200 thousand lei. Those from YOUBESC and the Association of Art Consumers say that the purpose of the project is to promote the prodigious activity of actor Mihai Curagău among the new generation and to immortalize this notorious personality in our culture.

Those who want to contribute to the monument's accomplishment can donate on the Gofundme platform or find out more information on the website www.MILIARD.md
